Last night I knocked at love’s
door,
No one answered,
I started looking around for love,
And found ‘doubt’ watching me from far
away
with an evil grin in his eyes
I asked him,
"Where is love"?
Doubt said, “Love is gone”
I asked, “When would love come
back?”
Doubt replied once I drive away
love
It never comes back ...
Still
Still
I returned with the hope in my heart
to find love again
someday somewhere and
that day I would never again let 'doubt' to kill our love.. ..
Shainee, I enjoyed your poem very much. The style reminded me of Rumi. Doubt is, indeed, the slayer of love.
ReplyDeleteOMG! Thats a huge compliment.Thank you so much :) Rumi is a great poet and one of my favorite too.

Ah, what a beautiful poem and I'm glad you put 'hope' into the equation. Without having 'hope' in love, we don't stand much of a chance. Great post Shainee.

Nice poem, Shainee. I think most of us can relate to having felt this way at some point in life. Some of us become cynical, while others of us remain hopeful that we'll find love. I've always been hopeful, and sure enough, I've found lots of love.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you, Helena! Thank you so much for reading and appreciating my poem :)
